Assistant Product Manager

FloraCraft Corporation is the worldwide leader in the fabrication of floral and crafting products and, most recently, the proud Supplier of the Year for Walmart.  This 70+ year strong, family-owned company that manufactures and imports products for the Craft, Floral and Special Events markets, has an opening for an Assistant Product Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

– Has a good understanding of key customers and their current mix of FloraCraft and competitive products

– Has a good understanding and knowledge of the craft and floral retail market

– Develops solutions to complement FloraCraft’s current product offering

– Understands competitive pricing in the market

– Identifies new profitable products for development

– Participates in product sales reviews

– Reviews and approves specification documents for new products delivered by consultants

– Develops and/or approves Specification documents for new FloraCraft product

– Reviews factory samples and delivers Production Notes to factories

– Approves factory samples and documents approvals

– Manages process of cataloging and identifying file samples for easy access and reference

– Keeps accurate notes on approvals and progress toward ship dates

– Looks for margin and sales opportunities

Skills and Abilities Required: 

– 3-5 years of related experience in Project Management, Consumer-Packaged Goods and/or Product Development.

– Experience working on import products from inception through manufacturing.

– Good technical and specification writing skills.

– Must have a sense of urgency and be deadline-oriented.

– Must have high attention to detail.

– Ability to manage through change and work in an innovative, fast-paced environment.

– Expert in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Creative Suite.

– Database experience/knowledge a plus.

– Some travel required.

Education/Experience Requirements

– BA with relevant course major in Project Management, Product Management and/or Marketing and 3-5 years of related experience in project management, product development and/or marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working Conditions/Environment

– This position works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise agreed upon. Work may require overtime. Working conditions are consistent with a typical office environment and are usually quiet.
