FloraCraft Workforce Development Highlighted by Michigan Works!

FloraCraft, a leading manufacturer in Ludington, recently demonstrated its commitment to workforce development by partnering with Michigan Works! West Central to provide Incumbent Worker Training to eight of its employees. This collaboration resulted in all eight individuals gaining valuable skills and earning an Operator Certification.

“At FloraCraft, our team is the heartbeat of our organization – driving excellence and innovation to provide exceptional products to its customers,” FloraCraft’s Vice President of Operations Mike Smith said. “We enjoy a stable workforce with employees with an average tenure of nine years. Through competitive pay, exceptional benefits and a wonderful work culture, FloraCraft strives to be an employer of choice in Mason County.”

The training focused on enhancing operational knowledge, boosting efficiency and increasing overall safety and productivity on the production floor. Through hands-on learning and expert instruction, participants developed a deeper understanding of equipment operations, troubleshooting techniques and best practices for maintaining high standards in manufacturing.

The results of the training have already made a noticeable difference. Certified operators are now more confident in their roles and better equipped to contribute to FloraCraft’s ongoing success. Their increased expertise has not only improved production output, but has also helped reinforce a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.

FloraCraft’s investment in its workforce highlights the importance of upskilling employees and creating opportunities for professional growth. With support from Michigan Works! West Central, the company continues to lead by example—demonstrating how strong partnerships can drive meaningful results for both employees and employers.
