Instructions
- Search online and print out music notes and roller skate templates. Trace onto posterboard or print out onto cardstock paper. The stiffer paper will help guide the CleanKut® to ensure a smooth edge. Pin the templates onto the foam.
- Turn on the CleanKut® by twisting the black collar to the “on” position, let it heat up for a few seconds. Follow the instructions on the package to cut out the shapes. Hold the blade at a 90° angle to the face of the foam while cutting to ensure a straight edge.
- Run the blade along the edge of the template to keep the cut edge straight and smooth. Keep a steady pace while cutting stopping too long in one place will melt a spot in the foam. If you need to stop, pull the blade out and reinsert it when ready to cut.
- Paint the music notes and the wheels on the roller skate black. While the paint is wet, sprinkle with black glitter. As the paint dries, it will secure the glitter in its place. Painting the foam shape the same color as the glitter will help conceal the foam if any of the glitter flakes off. Allow it to dry completely.
- Paint the roller skate pink and sprinkle with pink glitter and allow it to dry completely. Paint the front stopper on the roller skate white, sprinkle with white glitter, and allow it to dry completely.
- Use the CleanKut® to make 4 or 5 holes along the top edge of the skate for the ribbon to thread through for the laces. Thread the ribbon through the holes and tie it into a bow at the top of the skate. Use 3M removeable pictures hanging squares to hang the shapes.
