  • Chenille Stems - Black and Light Green
  • Vellum Paper Sheet 12” x 12”

Tools

  • Low-Temp Glue Gun
  • Scissors
  • Paint Brush
  • Toothpicks
  • Thin Wood Skewer

Instructions

  1. Begin by inserting toothpicks into the balls to use as handles while painting. Paint all of the balls green and allow them to dry completely.  TIP: Insert the toothpicks from the balls into a scrap piece of foam to hold the balls upright while they dry. Once dry, remove the toothpicks.
  2. Thread the painted balls onto the wood skewer, arranging them from largest to smallest. Push the balls tightly against each other to flatten the areas where they touch together as shown. Trim the end of the skewer to the desired length.
  3. Glue the wiggle eyes onto the front of the top foam ball to make the face. Cut pieces of black chenille stem into short pieces and insert them into the side of the foam body for the legs.  Cut pieces of light green chenille stem and insert them into the top of the head for the antenna.
  4. Cut the wing shapes from the vellum paper and glue to the back of the foam body for the wings.
