Instructions
- Hold the two foam balls firmly together and push and twist to sand away a flat spot on each ball. These flat areas – about 2” wide – will provide a stable surface for gluing the balls securely.
- Cover your work surface with a tablecloth. Insert a craft stick part way into the flat spot on each of the foam balls and use them as a handle while painting.
- Using a flat paintbrush, coat both foam balls with red acrylic paint. Brush in multiple directions to ensure full coverage and work the paint into the foams texture. Allow the paint to completely dry before applying another coat, if needed, and then set aside to dry thoroughly.
- On the yellow craft foam, draw bird feet about 2” long, and then cut them out with scissors. Then draw a 3” x 1” wide diamond shape. Fold the diamond shape half lengthwise to create the beak. Fold the diamond in half lengthwise and glue the corners together. Clip in place until dry.
- Glue a craft stick between the two balls, aligning the flat spot, so they sit together side by side.
- Glue the beak and wiggle eyes to the face of the bird. Glue red feathers into the body for wings. Glue feathers into the back of the body for tail feathers. Finally, glue the feet to the bottom of the body.
