Instructions
- Roll out thin ropes of clay about 1/8″ thick and about 2.5” long, tapering at one end. Use two ropes per horn. Hold the two ropes together at the wide end and twist together to form the horn. Trim bottom of horn to desired length and allow to dry.
- Lay down the drop cloth to protect your surface. Paint each horn gold, while the horn is wet, sprinkle with glitter. The paint will adhere to the glitter as it dries. Set aside to dry.
- Cut a 6 x 7” piece of felt to cover each egg. Center the egg on the felt and wrap it snuggly, pulling away any excess fabric to the back. Smooth out any wrinkles, trim the excess and the edges in place. Don’t worry about the seam – it’ll be hidden by the mane.
- Cut 3” pieces of white feather boa and glue a mane to each of the eggs. Glue it from the top, narrow part of the egg down the back to cover the seam from the felt.
- Glue the horns in place on top of the eggs. Glue a few ribbon roses around the horns.
- Cut small lengths of black wire to form the squinting eyes. Add a small amount of glue to hold them in place. Add a little blush to the cheeks for a sweet, whimsical look.
- Option: You can cut small triangles from white felt and glue them to the horn to create ears.
