Train and Jungle Friends

Instructions

Giraffe: 

1. To create the giraffe, cut longer lengths for the neck and body.  Cut two shorter lengths for the legs, then split them lengthwise to make four legs. Glue them to the body. Attach the neck to one end of the body, then glue a short piece on top for the head. 
2. Slice thin pieces of foam and cut them into half circles for ears. Cut a triangle-shaped piece for the tail and glue it in place. 
3. Mix a small amount of brown paint with white to create a light brown. Insert toothpicks into the foam pieces to use as handles while painting. Paint the giraffe and add brown spots. 
4. To finish, glue on small chenille stem pieces for horns and finish with wiggle eyes. 

Monkey: 

1. To create the monkey, use a longer foam piece for the head and body. Cut shorter pieces diagonally in half to create ovals for the back legs. Glue them to the sides of the body with the pointed ends facing up. 
2. Cut a piece in half diagonally to form an oval for the nose. Roll the edges on a table to shape it, then glue it to the face.  Add thin foam slices for ears.  
3. Cut more thin slices in half for feet and glue them in place. For hands, cut thin pieces in half and attach them to the body using purple chenille stems. 
4. Paint the monkey using purple and a mix of purple and white. Let each color dry before applying the next. Once dry, glue on a chenille stem tail and wiggle eyes. 

Train: 

1. To create the train, start by assembling the cars. For the engine, glue two short foam pieces perpendicularly to a longer piece. Use full lengths for tanker cars and halved lengths for flatbed cars. Cut thin slices for wheels and glue them to the sides. \
2. Paint each train car and let them dry completely. If desired, connect the cars using lengths of chenille stem.
