Instructions

  1. Measure 2 in from the corner to find the middle of the 4 edge of the foam and make a mark.  Make a line from that center point to the two opposite corners to create a triangle shapeUse the serrated knife to cut out the triangleSave the scraps for future craft projects.
  2. Cut 2” strips of fabricCut each strip into 2″ squares.  Use sandpaper to round the end of the wood skewer slightlyThis will prevent the pointed end of the skewer from piercing through the fabric when tucking it into the foam.  Lay a square of fabric onto the surface of the foam and push the wood skewer into the center of the fabric, tucking it into the foam about 1/2″ – 3/4″.  Continue tucking in squares of fabric about 1/2″ apart to completely cover the front and sides of the triangleThe bottom can be left bare to allow the chicken to sit more easily.
  3. Cut four lengths of twine for the legsLay two lengths together and tie a knot halfway between the ends for the kneeNow tie a knot at each end, do this for both legsGlue the legs under the front edge of the bodyCut feet shapes from the orange felt and glue to the bottom of the legs as shown.
  4. Glue the wiggle eyes in placeCut two small triangles from the orange felt for the beak and glue in place under the eyes.
  5. Make a small bow from the thin ribbon and glue a little bow in its hair.
